The Bonneville, Hackney

Design.

The customer's dream for their space

The client envisioned a bar that blended the sophistication of Art Nouveau with the raw charm of reclaimed materials. A space that celebrated their heritage while standing out as a one-of-a-kind venue.

Their three key requirements were:
1. Subtle Elegance
2. Reclaimed Character
3. Atmospheric Flair

The unique challenge for the design and build dream

It was important to the client that we make bold use of reclaimed elements such as a lovely salvaged Victorian skylight and a cobblestone basement floor (see images).

Turning the vision into reality

The Bonneville now stands as a visually stunning and distinctive bar, celebrated for its imaginative mix of old-world charm and modern creativity. It’s more than a venue, it’s a story brought to life. Here's how we delivered:

Subtle Elegance: We added curved bar shelves and bespoke corbels to capture the timeless allure of Art Nouveau.

Reclaimed Character: Reused materials brought a unique warmth to the space. The cobblestone floor became a show-stopping feature, while a theatrical artist crafted textured walls to add depth and drama.

Atmospheric Flair: A touch of theatre - like a carefully placed smoke machine - elevated the ambiance.

We don’t just build bars. We create spaces that inspire, surprise, and tell a tale of their own.
